Mobility Campaign Paid Off
It was back in January 2022 that we launched a GoFundMe campaign called “Mobility in Malawi” in which we focused on the future need for a vehicle. Having completed Chuzu, a one and a half hour drive from Lilongwe which is commutable by public transport or taxi, our second site is at Ndalama, 5 hours away. We would like to announce that as of September 26th we were able to purchase a Nissan X Trail thanks to your response to the campaign, at a cost of $5980 USD. Currently we are making bio-monthly visits to Ndalama for teaching on the Compact methodology. This will be followed early next year with training in the key areas of rammed earth buildings, water management, solar power, and permaculture. Thank you so much for your support, we trust you are pleased with the progress!

7 Days A Week
With the September report from Chisomo Mainje, our executive director in Malawi, comes a schedule developed by the Community. To our absolute delight it shows the building being used 7 days a week. There are 5 pre-school, 2 children’s after school and 2 adult classes being run by a mixture of volunteers and local teachers. The local church also makes use of the space three times a week for worship, Bible study and choir practice. This was a mere dream two years ago and now a joyful reality.
