The big picture for Compact Resource Foundation is to improve soil and water quality on rural farms in Malawi's Nkotakota district and improve the quality of life for these people. Villages, concentrated around one watershed, share the same pressing need for improved water flow and soil health. Restoration efforts include composting, sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, small gardens, nutrition education, and riparian restoration. These initiatives are supported with a solar water tower installations to maximize impact in each location.
The outcome will be measured by extended growing seasons, improved water flow, increased yields, and better health. Each project is underpinned with monitoring through biannual surveys, follow-up assessments, and drone imaging.
