After School Classes
None of the homes in Chuzu have electricity which means any type of academic learning stops at the end of the school day. We are delighted to announce that as of August 2022 there are 4 evening classes a week operating out of the Chuzu center. There are two classes for children allowing them a place to do homework or practice their reading, and two classes for adult education which focuses on reading Chichewa, the local language. We are grateful for the services of a local teacher, Mr. Benedicto Andrew Moyenda who has taken this role on at the direction of the local headmaster. This also means we can operate the library facility in which we invested and is supported by the “National Library Service” from whom we get an annual supply of books. Thank you for your continued support and little by little the difference is being made.
Proverbs 19:17
He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him for what he has done.
Welcome to Zeb Williamson
We are delighted to introduce you to Zeb Williamson, the latest member of the Compact team. Zeb is a science teacher at a secondary school in Trinidad Colorado, with a special interest in biodiversity and their systems. Compact works diligently to educate local people on the importance of their own habitat, both to nurture and protect it. We are confident that Zeb will make a valuable contribution to the work in rural Malawi. Zeb is supported by his wife Emily and their four children.
