A Landmark Day
Chuzu Building Begins
We are delighted to report that work began on leveling the site at Chuzu in the district of Dowa, on April 12th, 2021. The villagers have waited many years for this day and the arrival of George Phiri, the lead rammed earth builder and his team, was an exciting one. The 18 strong crew assisted by some locals is scheduled to take 22-26 days. Warmer conditions are already under way which means water must be poured on the ground to make it workable.
Grant Writing with University of Hawaii
Compact’s work often draws attention as noble and worthy. It is inspiring how many have joined the cause with us. This month we’ve secured the services of the University of Hawaii in Manoa to assist in business writing and grant research. All these jobs require specific skills which are being shared with Compact as we work towards completing our first project. This we hope will be the catalyst for many more projects sweeping the rural landscape of Malawi and bringing sustainable change. Donate today.
Web Designer Found
We are delighted to report that following our appeal for a SEO engineer Roche Lynx from Vancouver has joined the team. Roche is in his fourth year at Emily Carr University of Art & Design in Vancouver studying Interaction Design. Roche was drawn by Compact’s endeavor of self-reliance by improving skills rather than providing aid. Welcome on board.
