Home For Christmas
The site visit November 9th gave us great cause to think that the main structure would be completed by early December and available for use mid-month which would have been a great Christmas present for Chuzu. However, anyone involved in building knows there are always variables which in our case has been the need for the walls to dry out before plastering and being able to support the roof. Other similar sites further south begin with less moisture and have a warmer climate which means roofing can start much sooner. We can report that of December 1st the poles have all been treated and put in place ready for thatching which will take about a week. You might think we could still be in for Christmas at a push, but we must let the building settle, undergo final inspections, preoccupation and maintenance training, furnish the premises with chairs and folding tables, and establish the buildings security measures. Some people focus on the disappointment of a self-imposed ideal such as not being in for Christmas whereas, we at Compact are happy that things continue to progress always in the right direction, and we have nothing to be anxious about.
Planning is bringing the future into the present
so that you can do something about it now.

Getting In Early
Christmas can be a hectic time with so many added things being put on our plates. School events, church services and the general desire to show good will to all as the season prompts us. We have been delighted to send out 55 Christmas cards to those of you who trusted us in the work we are doing with no track record or history to back it up. In Philippians 1:5 The Apostle Paul thanked those people for “participating … from the first day until now.” We thank you for getting in early and hope you have not been disappointed in the progress that Compact has made. We hold to our banner, “Creating healthy communities little by little.”
