Improving Our Exposure
New Website
Anyone can have a website but the real question is, how effective is it? Billions of posts directing us to people, causes or websites are put up every day so how do you get seen, heard and gain those thousands of followers? It’s a field of its own and involves simple, understandable text with captivating images that lead to easy access of real information. This along with an understandable layout, search engine optimization, constant analysis and some other tricks of the trade, can make all the difference.
Good web design costs money so on the advice of our marketing team we have taken the first step and upgraded our site. We are very grateful for the work of Roche Lynx from Vancouver’s Emily Carr University for the time he has committed to this and look forward to working with him again in the future.
Media Team
For the past 6 weeks, Kaila Cornejo & Justin Lai have been working on setting up our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts. At this point most of our donors are somewhat “old school” and quite happy with an email containing the newsletter or even a card in the post. For Compact to be serious about its goals, growth and building exposure, these platforms are essential tools in reaching a broader donor audience. A big “Thank You” to the caring youth in our team. Follow us on Instagram @Compact_Resource_Foundation and @CompactRF on Twitter.

Administration
The Compact team now works in five different time zones with all our meetings conducted on Zoom. This has become increasingly time consuming and we are therefore very grateful for another volunteer who has stepped forward. As of May 2021, Kinder Jones of Vancouver has relieved some board members of the increasing clerical work. Our accountant will welcome this!
