Thank You

As you can imagine we owe a great big thank you to all who have continued to support the work of Compact in Malawi, Africa and as we begin a New Year, we want to expand our gratitude. There are many people who volunteer with Compact covering a range of valuable tasks. There’s been cooking for events, checking receipts before they go to the accountant, editing text in documents, grant requests and applications to be made and filled in. Who wrote all those Christmas cards? 200 letters have gone out this month with a stamp on. Trevor coached us on SEO, Keli attended the November 18th event and stepped up providing simple yet very effective advice on tidying up our website. Finn & Rhea will be taking on our Instagram account and are confident they can improve on our current following of 44!

All this is in addition to the work of board members in Malawi, Canada, Colorado, and our staff who work over and above to serve their fellow Malawians. Compact is getting into its stride, taking shape and improving with each project. Thank you one and all for the contribution you make so that together we can make a difference.

“We are not on this earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others”

Travelling to Malawi

On March 12th, 2024 Zeb Williamson & Kevin Jones will be traveling to Malawi to meet with the Malawian team. This should coincide with the first planned permaculture training at our next site. It’s a 5-day program that introduces the community to the basic yet life changing principles of permaculture. The visit will also include time at Ndalama to review their progress as they move into their second year of permaculture farming and easier access to water. Finally, the two will be looking over potential new sites for the near future. Zeb, who is experienced in a variety of environmental agricultural techniques, is looking to see what improvements Compact can make to optimize each location and provide continuous improvement to their design programs.
