Fundraising Solutions
With the need to raise some $250,000 on an annual basis for each project and future planning, Compact has bought into a grant sourcing program supplied by Grant Advance. Their software provides detailed information on thousands of foundations across Canada whose aim is to help others with their mission. Many of these are private family foundations with no websites but whose information is in the public domain if you know where to look. Grant Advance allows you to search and find foundations that match your ethos and mission, making them a potential supporter of your work. The software costs $2,300 annually with the guarantee of a free additional year if you have not found grants equal to that amount in your first year. It’s not an easy process and the first year is very much a trial run but the hard work will pay off. To date we have been blessed with two grants totaling $20,000 from F K Morrow, Toronto and Luke 4 Foundation in Peterborough Ontario. For more information contact us at ktj125@mac.com

Church Is In
With the opening completed on May 6th, Compact was pleased to welcome the Church of God in Chuzu to the centre. For many years locals have met under the trees or not at all during the bad weather.
Moving Forward
Now that the Chuzu project is up and running we will continue to support the village with monthly visits to assess the permaculture program, usage of the building and provide some additional nutrition training in early July. Our next task is to find and assess a new location. For our next project we are pleased to report we are now 60% funded.
