Talking Toilets

You may not like the idea of composting toilets and the use of human waste for fertilizer, but education is a big part of what we do at COMPACT so saddle up. Compost is the controlled biological decomposition of organic material that has been sanitized through heat and processed to reduce pathogens, to the point that it is beneficial to plant growth. Compost bears little physical resemblance to the raw material from which it originated. Compost is an organic matter source that has the unique ability to improve the chemical, physical, and biological characteristics of soils. If you want more information, you could also look up “ecological sanitation toilets.” The inclusion of an eco san toilet block not only improves the community hygiene, it provides free compost that farmers currently need to buy. Your support is shaping a healthy community for decades to come by design rather than leaving things to chance.

GOFUNDME -update

The GoFundMe campaign got off to a great start for which we are very grateful. These campaigns need a lot of social media attention and quickly fall off people’s radar and out of favour with social media algorithms. Please visit or share whenever you can. Thank you.

Solar Power

September 16th saw the Field Manager, Luke Bekar visit Chuzu with the solar power contractor to take measurements and asses the installation requirements. This basic utility will bring great relief allowing the use of the building in the evenings and for the charging of small devices like phones which can currently take 4-6 hours.

Proverbs 11:25
